Twisted geometric cycles

I will explain some recent work of my collaborator Bai-Ling Wang on using twisted Baum-Douglas geometric cycles to construct twisted K-homology. A consequence is an index formula that can be interpreted as formula for D-brane charges. Some of these results generalise to twists from string structures. Depending on time I will include some discussion of these more recent developments.
