Tropical intersection theory is a useful tool in tropical enumerative geometry. We give a short introduction to the topic covering the basic objects and operations such as tropical cycles and Cartier divisors, intersection products, morphisms, push-forward, pull-back and rational equivalence. To illustrate the concept of a tropical cycle we look at some pictures of tropical surfaces in 3-space.
