Friedrich Wagemann: On Hopf 2-algebras

This talk is on recent joint work in progress with Yael Fregier (Luxembourg).
Our starting point is a paper by Fernandez Villaboa, Lopez Lopez and Vilanueva Novoa on the equivalence of (strict) Hopf 2-algebras with crossed modules of Hopf algebras, in the framework of cocommutative Hopf algebras. Our questions are on examples, the dual concept and on the relevance of their definition. Our results include an enveloping algebra for the string Lie 2-algebra, the compatibility with crossed modules of Lie algebra and groups, and an equivalence of commutative Hopf 2-algebras with cocrossed comodules of Hopf algebras.
