Amoebas and coamoebas of complex algebraic hypersurfaces

Amoebas (resp. Coamoebas) are the link between the classical complex geometry and the tropical (resp. complex tropical) geometry. I will start by briefly introducing these objects in the complex algebraic hypersurfaces cases. Then, I will review some past and recent progress in the understanding of the relationships and similarities between the geometry of amoebas and coamoebas and its links with Newton polytopes. Many examples, with pictures, will be given.
